The Bang-Bang Benefits of Guns

Yes concealing and carrying a firearm can escalate the chances of an encounter with someone turning lethal. Yes the conceal and carry law can make people that aren’t carrying a firearm feel as safe. Yes, a criminal will most likely carry a gun with them if they suspect that their victim will have a gun as well. But there are many pros to having firearms, for example, You will be able to protect your self from a threat. Guns can be dangerous but if handled correctly they can help a person gather food to eat.

People use guns to gather food to survive

Some people don’t live in towns and cities so it can be hard for them to go to a store to get all their food to eat. When you live in the woods you kind of really start to rely on your gun for protection and to gather food. Many people don’t just use their gun for gathering food some use it to protect herself from threats like animal intruders. Many people rely on their guns for living their everyday life so if you take their guns then what are they going to do to survive. There was a survey done in 2006 which showed that people 18 and up where hunting deer for the meat not for a trophy or for fun. A 20-year-old man named Christopher Knight walked away from society in Boston Massachusetts with a gun and some other supplies and didn’t return for almost a quarter of a century according to this story written by Michael Finkel.

The right to conceal and carry

It is a constitutional right for men and women in the U.S to bear arms. Many people in the U.S conceal and carry a loaded firearm to use in case of an extreme emergency situation like if there is an active shooter in a store, bank, exedra. One of the pros to concealing a gun is it can help to deteriorate crime. Concealing a gun can help protect a person who can’t always rely on the policies. The majority of the U.S citizens are in favor of concealing firearms 75% to 25%. When it became legal to conceal and carry a firearm the number of multiple-victim public shooting dropped by 84%. According to the website Gun factsby Guy Smith, murder rates fell 50% when Texas passed there conceal and carry law. Most guns that are concealed and cared are smaller handguns. The most common and well known conceal and carry around is a 9mm. As you could probably get a 9mm round if it hits somebody will make about a 9mm big hole but when a person conceal and carries they normally use around called a hollow point and the hollow point round can and will do a lot more damage to someone if it was to hit them because of staying intact it mushrooms out to make the bullet do maximum damage which is why policies officers have been carrying them around for year according to an article Created By Alien Gear Holsters called all about hollow points.

The average gun and user in the U.S

It is an estimated that about one-third of American households have a firearm in them and about 22% of single adults. There is an estimate that there are about 300 million guns in the U.S today. About 30% of people that live in the U.S have never shot a gun in their life. Most people that own a gun either want it for protection or they use it for hunting and gathering food. [perfectpullquote align=”right” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] In an article written by Dan Clark on 3-12-18 which quote’s John Faso saying “The vast majority of crime that is gun related is committed by people who illegally are possessing that firearm,”. Faso said in an interview on C-SPAN.there was a heroic man conceal and carried in Titusville, Florida and saved countless lives by gunning down a shooter according tothe story by fox new’s. [/perfectpullquote]

What John was saying is that crimes that involve firearms the firearm used are illegal bought or stolen. So overall most guns and gun users are good people trying to survive and or protect themselves so it says in Dan Clark’s article.

Types of guns used to hunt and conceal and carry

When people go duck, pheasant, or most small game bird like they usually use a shotgun whether it is a 10,12, or 20 gages. The lower the gage of a shotgun the bigger the shell is for the gun. Shotguns have 4 main types of shells trap, birdshot, buckshot, and slugs are the main types of shells for a shotgun. trap shot is a bunch of small bb’s made of lead to shoot trap with, birdshot is made of a bunch of small bb’s made of steel to shoot bird with, buckshot is bigger bb’s made of steel to shoot deer with, slugs are a cylinder-like shape made of steel or lead to shooting deer. Some people use rifles to shoot wild game like deer, elk, moose, bear. There are many different calibers for rifles but some of the most common according to an article written by John B. Snow called 10 best-hunting rifles for deer, are AR15,308,m220, 7.62X59 Remington. The main types of concealing and carry firearm calibers are .308, 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP the one thing all of these rounds have in common is that they are handgun calipers. The reason that most people use handguns for concealed and carry weapons is that they can be concealed so people don’t even know that they are carrying a firearm.

Conclusion

So now you know that there is a lot more to firearms than the average person knows so I can see how people would think that having no firearms at all could be a good thing but in fact, it could end up being a big problem with people who are pro-firearm rights. People use their firearms in all sorts of different ways like for protection and or gathering food so we can’t take these guns away from their or it would be catastrophic. It is important to know both sides of a story before you make a decision because I bet that most people learn something they didn’t know about firearms after reading this essay.

It’s great that you mentioned how guns could help a person gather food to eat if handled correctly. I was reading a firearms magazine the other day and I was quite surprised that there are actually quite a lot of practical uses for guns nowadays. Seeing the convenience they bring made me understand why a lot of people would choose to become a CEO firearm retailer.
