The year 2017 will hold the best movies to ever be made compared to the previous years. Logan, Cars 3, Transformer The Last Knight, Kong Skull Island, Justice League, Thor Ragnarok, The Fate of the Furious, Spider-Man Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, and Wonder Woman are some of the reasons why 2017 is going to be the best movie year for the US.

Logan, which is all about the 155 year old Wolverine who is living in a world where all of his friends are dead. The only mutants, that logan knows of, are Charles Xavier and Caliban. Almost half way though the movie he meets a young girl only by the name of Laura, who Logan won’t know has special gifts like him until the people looking for Laura start looking for Logan. Logan’s powers are fading, his healing factor is slowing down, he is aging and he isn’t functioning like he used to.

Cars 3 is the third installment of the pixar movie series, Lighting McQueen is now the last of his race car model. All of his friends have retired and now he has to go up against the faster and stronger next gen racers. McQueen gets into a bad wreck and refuses to retire, he then has to be trained by a new character Cruze. Jackson Storm is now the head dog. He is winning all the races while McQueen is being trained, not to be faster but to be smarter than Jackson Storm.

Transformers: The Last Knight reveals that a legend is going to come true, transformers have been on earth during the medieval times as knights fighting with the knights of the round table, including King Arthur. The legend is that those same five knights never left earth. Optimus Prime ran out of energon when he left earth in 2014, he was captured by “his maker” or Quintessa, and was blamed for the death of his home Cybertron. She made him feel guilt and when she found him floating in space, she had him possessed by dark energon and turns evil for most of the movie, eventually turning on the autobots and ends up fighting Bumblebee, Megatron returns to play a major part of the history of the Knights.

Kong: Skull Island takes place in the early 1970’s on Skull Island. Unlike King Kong from the 2005 film King Kong which showed King Kong standing at 25 feet, while the 2017 Kong Skull Island is based in the early 1970’s stands at 100 feet. Since Kong is this height in the early 1970’s, imagine how tall he will be in 2020 when he faces against Godzilla in a epic rematch from 1962. Kong goes up against skull crawlers who live underground, Kong is the only thing keeping the skull crawlers in the ground. They said once Kong goes, then the Big One comes up, the Big One is bigger than Kong.

Justice League takes place after the death of Superman in Batman v Superman. Superman was a part of the Justice League in the comics, along with him are Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman and The Flash. These same characters will appear in Justice League in November of 2017. The villain of this movie will be Darkseid who is the tyrannic ruler of the planet Apokolips, his goal is to dominate and conquer the universe and eliminate all free will. In the comics Darkseid is a staple Superman villain and a major enemy of the Justice League. Darkseid’s abilities are superhuman strength, speed, durability, and immortality. In the 2017 perpetration of Justice League, Batman travels the world to look for the members of this legendary elite group of heros.

Thor: Ragnarok is the third entry in this short marvel movie series. In this movie the title really explains it all, the word Ragnarok means a world will be destroyed and rebuilt from scratch. Hela is the main antagonists in Thor: Ragnarok, in the first trailer for this movie within 15 seconds of this trailer we see Thor throwing his hammer at Hela who catches his hammer, and then crushes it. Thor is then exiled to sakaar which in the comics is called Planet Hulk after Hulk was exiled from earth after he lost control and rampaged on earth which left the avengers no choice but to abandon him at sakaar, which soon became Planet Hulk after he became a god to those who civilized it. At the end of the trailer we see Thor going into a gladiator arena with a new hair style. As the door on the other side of the arena open slowly we hear an announcer say, “aaaand now. We give you, your…Incredibllllle.” Then Hulk in his gladiator outfit that he had in the comics breaks open the door and roars looking dead at Thor.

The Fate of the Furious is different from the rest of the movies, in this movie the crew has to deal with Dom. Dom teams up with a terrorists by the name of Cypher, the crew doesn’t what Dom is up to but they do know he isn’t going bad. In Fast and Furious style there are fast cars, exotic locations and in this movie, there is a giant submarine that they have to deal with. Paul Walker is not in this movie, and the way they explained it in the movie is that they are trying to keep Bryan and Mia out of it, so that way they don’t just forget about those two characters. Dom is doing Cypher’s dirty work, he is getting her materials for a nuclear attack just to show the world what she is made of. Dom’s teams doesn’t give up on him and they try to help him get his family back, the crew finds out that Dom is doing this to get his son back.

Spider-Man: Homecoming takes place after Captain America Civil War from 2016. The new Peter Parker/Spider-Man is doing his own thing when he runs into an enemy who has had enough with the Avengers and how he says “has left people like us behind.” Spider-Man goes to Tony Stark for help but Stark tells Peter to stay out of it, but Peter takes matters into his own hands and ends up getting his suit taken away after Tony Stark has to clean up his mess with his new Iron Man suit. So now Peter has to go back to his homemade suit and go up against this threat by himself. He has to do this for his new girl and do it to prove Stark wrong.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is going to be about Star-lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket, and Baby Groot back at it again to save the galaxy for the second time. In the process, Star-lord meets a long lost family member, his father! The threat they have to deal wit is a character whose goal is to destroy the universe. Another way to explain this would be that Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s parentage is revealed.

Wonder Woman is going to be about the origins of Diana’s powers, and this movie will also explain the picture of her standing with soldiers that we saw in the Batman v Superman movie in 2016. It will show how she met those men in the photo and where she came from and the secrets of her past and immortality. This history will include the events in Metropolis in 2016 with the destruction that Doomsday released upon New York, and the tragic death of Superman. This movie will mostly take place in the past.

The Fate of the Furious is the eighth installment of the most watched movie series that first started in 2001 and started a franchise that is loved by most car lovers, and many car owners in the US. Without a doubt, the Fast and Furious film series is the most well-known franchise all over the world. 2017 has had a lot of blockbusters so far this year and there are a lot more to come such as, Justice League, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and many many more.

I think that the movies that will be coming out in 2017 are going to be the best films, mainly because of what their trailers have shown us. In my opinion action movies like Batman vs Superman are the best kind because of all the interesting things about the characters in the movie and the action scenes. I like movies that are about something that interest me, such as giant robots fighting each other, demi-gods duking it out, etc. In my eyes the reason why I think that 2017 is going to hold the best movies to be made yet is because of all the action movies it is going to include, Thor: Ragnarok, Transformer: The Last Knight, Justice League, Logan, Kong: Skull Island and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The year 2017 is also going to have some fun comedy’s like Going in Style, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, a rumored Daddy’s Home 2, and A Bad Mom’s Christmas (a sequel for the movie Bad Mom’s).

The top 10 weekend box office movies are The Fate of the Furious at number one with thirty-eight point seven million dollars worth of tickets sold, at number two The Boss Baby with twelve point eight million dollars worth of tickets sold, at number three Beauty and the Beast with ten million dollars worth of tickets sold, at number four Born in China with five point one million dollars worth of tickets sold, at number five Going in Style has five million dollars, Smurfs The Lost Village has four point nine million dollars worth of tickets sold at number six, at number seven Unforgettable has four point eight million dollars in the box office, Gifted sits at number eight with four point five million dollars in their box office, at number nine The Promise has four point one million dollars worth of tickets sold in the box office, and at number ten The Lost City of Z has only two point one million dollars in the box office. Most of those movies to me are hard to believe made the top 10 because I never heard of about 5 movie like Born in China or Unforgettable.

My predictions for the top ten best movies of the year will be, number one Thor: Ragnarok, number two Transformers: The last Knight, number three Logan, number four Kong: Skull Island, number five Spider-man: Homecoming, number six Justice League, number seven Wonder Woman, number eight Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, number nine Cars 3, and number ten The Fate of the Furious.

The year 2017 will in my opinion hold the best movies of all time because of the great sequels, superheroes, comedies, and comic book-based movies. In conclusion, 2017 will have the best movies of all time compared to 2016, 2015, and 2014.
