It seems these days that everyone you ask always wants to go somewhere warm. Having lived in Minnesota all my life i beg to differ.

My favorite thing about Minnesota is all the different seasons we get to enjoy. In California, for example, the season of summer never ends. It’s a never ending cycle of heat. California even tops the chart with the hottest day ever in the US. While in Minnesota we get to experience summer, winter, fall and spring.

Bring on the Heat

In Minnesota we get to experience Summer, but not to the extreme. In Minnesota you can go to the beach, get a tan and go swimming! But thats not all we have. There are many beautiful National Parks that you can visit. Some of those National Parks include; Gooseberry Falls, Itasca and The Split Rock Lighthouse. In the summer Minnesota is a beautiful place to explore. You can explore waterfalls, mountains, thick wooded trails and even caves. MN also has many areas for the active. They can choose to go hiking, biking, rollerblading, water skiing and rock climbing. After you have enjoyed a few months of Summer then comes Fall.

Season of Color

The next season that comes around is fall and personally my favorite. The temperature also cools off making it perfect sweater and sweatshirt weather.  Fall is photographers dream when the leaves on the trees change colors. You can still do everything you did in summer but there is also more that you can do. It is a tradition in my family to go to an apple orchard and pick out pumpkins, Honeycrisp apples and apple pie. Little kids also get to enjoy hayrides, corn mazes and tractor pulls. Along with the cold weather of fall comes FOOTBALL. There is nothing like watching a football game with someone, huddled in a blanket with a cup of hot cider.

Let It Snow

Then comes along winter. Snowmobiling, skiing, sledding, snowboarding, skating and tubing are just some of the many things that you can do in Minnesota during the winter. There are many amazing places where you can go skiing and snowboarding, including Lutsen Mountains, Giants Ridge and Spirit Mountain. There you can take a gondola to the top of the mountain. In the ski chalet you can enjoy  lunch overlooking Lake Superior on one side and ski runs on the other. That is just a small taste of what Minnesota has to offer in winter.

All is New Again

In the Spring everything turns green and it is time to break out the shorts. The weather starts to warm up and the snow starts to melt. Spring is when everything is new again and everyone is out tending their lawns and enjoying their time outside. There is also many places you can visit to have fun during the Spring. Some of these places are The Arboretum, Target Field, and Como Zoo and its Conservatory.

These are just some of the many reasons to love Minnesota and its seasons.
